After a bout of early morning insomnia this morning, I actually did something productive for a change. I POSTED TWO STORIES! Whoa...yeah I know. After well over a year of not posting anything, I dusted off my AFF account and uploaded two Get Backers stories--Prelude to the Answer and The Answer to the Question! They're the bridge and sequel (respectively) to my first fanfic EVAR! wahaha...it was a Get Backers story called Just One Minute! It was written back in May of 2005. I actually started writing a sequel to it back then but got distracted by a newly discovered show called "Gravitation." I wonder if you've ever heard of it....hahahah...

Anyhow, since I was going back and finishing up things, I started with the oldest first and am working my way up to NFF which is next. Again, I am VERY, VERY sorry if anyone was waiting for that to be updated. Life. Can't live with it, can't live without it. But I'm on the case now...or I will be once I finish one other thing.

Anyhow, in the meantime, go on over and check out the Get Backers on AFFnet. The Prelude to the Answer is sort of a bridge oneshot connecting Just One Minute and The Answer to the Question. The Answer to the Question can be read on its own without reading Prelude, but Prelude answers the questions that pop up in Answer...like why the hell are Ginji's clothes torn, tattered and being held together with telephone wire???

By the way, my beta was not able to go over either story for me and since I needed to move on (I have a weird thing about closure. Not finishing NFF has left me haunted and shattered over the past year--really...) I went over them myself. As long as they're the number one and two stories, anything anyone finds I will fix. But after that, I'll just have to live with it. I don't like the idea of bumping someone from the top spot to fix a typo. So unless the error is major, it'll stick forever more.

OMG...it's been over a year since I posted anything here. I'm surprised my account is still active. Surprised but glad!

Friends, 2007 was a HARD FUCKING YEAR! Let me tell you and it went down hill literally from moment NUMBER ONE on New Year's Eve. I found that no matter what I did after that, nothing changed. The year just kept getting worse and worse. From gang warfare breaking out in the neighborhood behind me, two household moves, two job moves, personal issues and more, there wasn't a month that went by that didn't have some kind of shit happening.

But, in spite of two bacterial infections and an abscessed tooth, I still had my health!

Gotta look for the little things, eh?

Well, I'm happy to say that while this year has had bumps of its own, it  is shaping up better so far...knock no STOMP on wood. And hopefully it will keep getting better...PLEEZ? I'm really begging the gods in charge of me. Last year wasn't kosher, but I know there were all kinds of life lessons in it. One of which I'm processing right now.

Anyway, back to the reason I'm here. Last year sucked the will to write right out of me and the first thing I want to do is extend a SERIOUS apology to anyone who was waiting for an update to Naked Friend Friday. NFF was an experiment to see if I could post while I write. I wanted to see if I could write on my feet and still make a viable story without going back and revising anything. The short answer is NO, I MOST CERTAINLY CAN'T! First of all, I didn't expect life to be so uncooperative. Secondly, I realized during that experiment that I'm more of a planner and while I can do a lot of writing off the cuff, particularly for short stuff, for longer stuff, especially something that's as wacky and off the wall as NFF, I need to plan. So, I've come to the conclusion that anything else I write will be DONE BEFORE I POST. And I won't post til I'm happy with the final product. That way, no one takes my poor name in vain because I've stiffed them on a story. It wasn't intentional, I swear. Also, I'm back to  working on NFF and HOPE, meaning no promises, but HOPE to have it out before Otakon this year.

And speaking of Otakon. OHHH YEAH. It's right around the corner, isn't it? Last year I met two people: M. Royale who was dressed as I believe Ash Cat? Correct me if I'm wrong and Pickachu Goddess who was dressed as Ryu from Gravitation. I met them both in line waiting for Maki Murakami's panel. I was the one with the wild hair hunched over holding her head. I was sick that day and had a tremendous headache, so I didn't look so good, and frankly, I'm surprised I didn't roll into Otakon ass naked. It was just that bad! So sorry about that you two. I was really not well. Shot out to those two. Hi!

So, now that you are back what the hell are you going to do about yourself, Asrella?

Glad you asked. The first thing I'm going to do is revise this page a little. I realize it was a bit ambitious when I conceived its purpose and for now at least, it has to go back to being an archive for stories and other bits. I can't keep up with people posting stories so I'll be getting rid of that section in the next few days. This'll still be a place for man love, and Big Daddy will still be in charge!

Speaking of Big Daddy. Force of Gravity is still up and running as an archive and posting forum even if there's no active rp going on at the moment, so go on over and check it out.

In the meantime, I will have a couple of things for you to tide you over to NFF whenever that's completed (I'm not far from finishing...). So look for something shortly.

AND YES, BY GOD, IT'S ALREADY DONE!!! I'm just looking over it again because my beta wasn't able to for me.

Oh and before I forget, BIG CONGRATULATIONS to Senator Obama on his historic win as the Democratic nominee!! You are the first viable African American candidate this country has seen and regardless of the General Election, that's a monumentous achievement. Perhaps this country is moving along bit by bit after all. Though there are still serious issues regarding race, and gender, and separation of church and state, I guess it's all about the baby steps.

Today an African American president.

Tomorrow, a world embracing without reservation same sex love and universal marriage outside of California and Massachusetts and Canada and the Netherlands, EVERYWHERE!

Of course...once we get rid of race, gender, poverty, and religion disagreements and gay phobia, what will we have left to fight about?

Well, folks, it's been a hard week here in Asrella-land. Not only did midterms have me by the proverbial balls but there're things going on around me that have me bogged down in a haze. Sighs...most of it is of my own making. I do some strange things sometimes and it's really proving to be self destructive. And when I do them, or rather NOT do them...as this is mostly about lack of doing things rather than doing what I need to do,  I KNOW that it will bite me in the ass later, yet I continue to do them or not do them anyway. heh...I guess that's why I also play Taki, ne? It's a terribly vicious cyle and lately it's gotten me very down because I seem helpless to stop myself and in the coming weeks it has the potential to only get worse, I'm afraid.  If you're one of my RP mates, I'm sorry I haven't been very responsive lately during chat. It's nothing I can really explain that would make much sense. It barely all makes sense to me either but I guess I gotta just suck it up, figure out a way to keep from making the same mistakes over and over again and march forward with Big Daddy-like determination, eh?

In the meantime, since that was WAY more info than you wanted, I've begun work on this here Journal thingy again...because it needed it and because I needed the diversion. I've begun to populate the links section over to the left. As the journal grows, entries that fall into those categories will be stored there for quick reference. Asrella's fanfics pretty much says it all. It's a stored archive of all my fics and the links to the various places they can be found over the web. It'll also eventually feature soundtracks of the music I use in multi-chapter fics. It might also include useless tidbits of trivia and other stuff that wind up in my writing for some unearthly reason.

Tatsuha x Ryuichi's Temple of Love is the section of this journal dedicated to all things Tats x Ryu. They're my Gravi OTP and I love them together dearly.  Fics, news, info, discussion, pics and other things dealing exclusively with the two of them will be stored here for quick reference.

Japanesey Pleasey is the section of this journal dedicated to all things Japanese--culture, music, pics, links, downloads, language information, news etc. I love talking about and exploring Japanese culture and am currently studying the language in school. My goal is to one day speak, read and write it fluently enough to be able read raw manga and watch raw anime. Not to mention to be able to go to Japan, enter a host club and order the man of my dreams to pour my drinks! :)

Feel free to share in any of these sections or offer up suggestions on how to better organize these things. As you can tell from the intro paragraph, I'm not always with it so suggestions, discussions and sharing are always welcome. Please also let me know when links no longer work and I'll fix em.

As for me, I think today, along with homework and cleaning, I shall drown my sorrows in more Alize, a tub of sushi and all the anime a body can stand!

BTW--for all those wondering where the hell the end to Naked Friend Friday is, it's coming, I SWEAR! I got bogged down similarly during the holidays when I was posting it up and am trying to get myself together to finish it. I have it down, it just needs tweaking and polishing. This section is dedicated exclusively to fics, pics and info about my Gravi OTP, Big Daddy x Starshine, aka Tatsuha x Ryu. I love this couple for a variety of reasons. First of all, out of all the Gravi pairings I think they're the most suited to one another. You've got a boy that worships the ground Ryu walks on and a man with a temperament that demands patience and off the wall loving care--at least that's how I see it from the original series. I've haven't read the new tracks and hear Ryu's quite the handful there, so I'll deal with that when I get there. I truly enjoy reading and writing fics centered on these two and how they make their relationship work. Of course, I'm biased because I also play Big Daddy over at the Force of Gravity Role Playing Forum and am paired up with a devious Sakuma in the form of Yukishuii. I also like the pairing because I think they can be a very nice counterpoint to all the angst and drama that comes out of Eiri and Shu's relationship. As dysfunctional as both Tats and Ryu are, I like to think that their dysfunction is the glue that lovingly holds them together!

So, without further ado, bring on the Tats and Ryu fics. Them solo or them together, that is what this page is all about. Fan art and general discussion about this pairing are also very welcome here.

Hey there all and welcome back to the Lounge. This is a pimpage post for the forum where I role play. It's called The Force of Gravity and I play Tats, Big Daddy, Uesugi and Taki Aizawa there. Welcome back to Big Daddy's Velvet Lounge!

Glad you came back. This is a place where you don't get parking tickets, there's no dress code or cover charge and there's not some big under paid, over testosteroned jerk at the door gauging whether or not you can get in. You're welcome here. There's no velvet rope to keep you out (though there might be one in the back to keep you in!) There's plenty of beer and cool music and places to sit and chill, sit and relax, sit and dream. Do it all you like. Nobody here minds.  Least of all me.

I dream about all of those. And right now, sitting here now, I'm restless and contemplative. It's probably cuz I got a parking ticket today. Or maybe it is because I think I've screwed myself out of a marvelous opportunity at work and there's nothing to be done at this point but suck it up and go on, making the best of whatever is left after said door is closed with me still on the outside.

Have you had a hard day at work or maybe just a hard day? Something not go right? Kinda restless and contemplative yourself?

Then let's go somewhere.

Let's go....shopping. In Japan. You and me, we'll hop on a plane right now. Screw it all. Screw em all. We'll throw a toothbrush into a suitcase and roll right up to the airport, get  first class tickets (roll with me here ok?) cuz Big Daddy don't do coach and you and me will head off toward the rising sun and leave the setting worries behind us. When we get there we'll get a place to stay--ryokan or swish hotel, it don't matter to Big Daddy as long as you're there and we'll feast on pizza with topings that are still wriggling! We'll drink sake and sing karoke til we pass out and when we wake up, we'll do  host clubs and temples, Akihabara and pachinko, we'll buy Hello Kitty bags and Super Dolfie bishounen dolls. We'll get hot coffee out of a vending machine and some norty movies, we'll hunt for school girls and steal their socks! We'll go manga shopping and see Bad Luck perform at Pershana. And then, late at night, we'll find some place way up high and go watch the lights of the city below us.

Look over there, there's Odaiba! I wonder if Shu and Eiri are there still on their date!

Let's hop the bullet train to Kyoto and go to Uesugi temple to pray. Big Daddy definitely needs some prayer in his life! LOL--pray that Eiri doesn't kill him dead when he finds that his little brother's stolen his credit card to finance this little trip for us!

The sky is the limit. Just you and me and Big Daddy makes three!

And while we wait for our plane, you can watch these two documentaries. They're older BBC documentaries, circa 2000-ish that are about 15 minutes long apiece. Very interesting.

And Big Daddy will sit here with you and remind you about all the cool things that went right today, so you don't just focus on what went wrong.

Welcome to the early dawn of Big Daddy's Velvet Lounge. This is a site maintained by your friendly neighborhood Asrella, that chick that writes fanfic.

So first things first, what the hell took you so long to get the page up, A? Where the hell you been?

--Sorry, it takes forever for me to get started on something and then other stuff got in the way, but I'm here now, with beer in hand, ready and willing to put this thing together once and for all. As you can see, the page is in its early stages, so bear with me, I'm on the case.

What's gonna be here?

--Well, that's a good question. Primarily this'll be a fanfic archive where people that love fanfic can meet, greet, read and recommend fanfics to one another. This is primarly a Gravitation page at the moment because that's what I write for, however as I expand my fandom base, the base for the page will expand as well. So, right now, Gravitation only fics please. This will also be a archive for all my fics so they're in one place. Right now I'm featured on Fanfiction.net, Adult Fanfiction, Gurabite and the Tales of Attraction (ToA) Archive. Because I got stuff scattered hither and yon, I thought it'd be a good place to get it all together. I will also post soundtrack songs to the music features in my fanfics and other odd ramblings regarding the stories.

--Nope, all pairings and genres are welcome but be aware that this is primarily a BIG DADDY page, meaning this is all about the youngest Uesugi, yes that man that is near and dear to my heart, Big Daddy Monk himself, Tatsuha Uesugi!! Having said that and the fact that this page is called Big Daddy's Velvet Lounge, there will be a special section dedicated to info and fics about Tats and his one and only Starshine, Ryu. Other pairings I like, K x Hiro aka Kiro and *blush* Tats x Eiri. I never thought I'd be a fan of sib-cest but for reasons I can't explain, those two just DO IT for me.

Speaking of which, in case you didn't know by now, this is a YAOI/SHOUNEN-AI page. I don't mind het pairings, but this is primarily a haven for MAN LOVE--OHHH THE JOY OF MAN LOVE! --This'll also be a place to chill and talk about things Japanese. The language, the culture, the people, the anime...yes, I'm an anime fanatic and love it and anime soundtracks dearly. I mean, first of all, I don't have a life exciting enough to blog about and second, you see how long it took me to get the initial page up right?
